Are you a student and would like to work in the construction industry? TOP! It is certainly possible, but there are a few things you need to pay attention to.

What are the conditions of student jobs in construction?

You must be at least 16 years old to start working as an employee. If you have completed your second high school, you may even start at the age of 15. 

What certificates do you need for student work in construction?

If you want to get started as a worker, there are some extra requirements. Simple jobs such as cleaning the site or moving light equipment, you may do from the age of 16. But then you must have a VCA certificate or proof that you have completed 16 hours of safety courses.

From your 18th birthday, you can even be the assistant to an experienced worker! But then you have to be in construction training and have completed a basic construction safety course. You must also be supervised on site and undergo a medical examination. Safety comes first, right?

What jobs in the construction industry should not be performed by a student?

There are a few tasks that students are not allowed to perform due to safety concerns, such as driving a crane or forklift, working at great heights and performing safety tasks.
